Examining the Perceived Benefits and Challenges of the ACD-OLFU Collaboration: A Quantitative Study on the ACD Youth Leadership and Cross-Cultural Business Congress 2023

This study aimed to develop an understanding on the benefits and challenges that the ACD-OLFU Collaboration posed to the participants and stakeholders of the recently concluded cross-cultural Business congress 2023. This research utilized a quantitative research design through validated survey questionnaires that will be disseminated both online and in person to the students, faculty members, and staff who actively participated in the five-day academic program. The outcome of this research serves as a feedback and interpretation of the positives and shortcomings of the program from the perspective of the participants and selected stakeholders—both a vital viewpoint that can be used as a reference to improve future similar endeavors of both the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) and the Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU). The findings indicate that the congress had a significant positive impact on participants’ individual development, group dynamics, and community involvement. Participants reported significant improvements in communication skills, decision-making abilities, problem-solving skills, and leadership qualities. The collaborative nature of the program fostered a sense of community, empathy, and social responsibility among participants. Despite the inherent challenges of participating in such a demanding program, participants reported minimal difficulties. The overall positive impact of the congress significantly outweighed any challenges faced. These findings suggest that leadership training programs, such as the ACD Youth Leadership and Business Congress, can play a crucial role in developing future leaders and contributing to societal progress.
