
This study investigated the sustainable practices and environmental challenges at Crystal Beach Resort in Zambales, Philippines. Crystal Beach Resort exemplifies the balance between human recreation and natural conservation, serving as a model for sustainable tourism. The research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the resort’s sustainability initiatives, such as waste management, energy conservation, and environmental-friendly policies, while also identifying the key environmental challenges faced by the resort. Using a quantitative research design and descriptive correlational analysis, data were collected from local and international tourists regarding their perceptions of the resort’s sustainability practices. Pearson-r moment correlation and linear regression analyses were employed to examine the relationship between environment attributes and perceived impacts. The study revealed that most visitors hail from neighboring towns such as Bataan, Olongapo, and Floridablanca, highlighting a potential for increased marketing efforts to attract a broader audience. The findings underscore the significant impact in perceived environmental impacts, indicating that effective sustainable practices can enhance the overall tourist experience while mitigating environmental pressures. The study concludes that ongoing efforts are required to improve cleanliness, accessibility, safety, and security to realize the full potential of sustainable development at Crystal Beach Resort. These insights provide a foundation for the resort’s management, local community, and policymakers to enhance sustainable practices and promote environmental stewardship, contributing to the broader goal of sustainable tourism development.
