Technological transformation has encouraged food service industry to implement artificial intelligence in their business. Customer satisfaction is key to a successful business. Business owners need to understand the consumers’ perspective on the changes they make with their operations. Therefore, the main objective of this study is to assess the level of satisfaction of the Gen X customers in ordering transactions of McDonald’s using kiosk-based technology and traditional cashiers. A total of 60 respondents from Gen X customers in McDonald’s San Fernando, Pampanga participated in this study. The proposed predictor variables in this study are the demographics, customer preference, factors affecting the customer satisfaction namely, convenience, reliability, flexibility, and accuracy, and the level of satisfaction in kiosk-based technology and traditional cashiers. Findings of this study revealed that Generation X customers preferred both kiosk-based technology and traditional cashiers as their ordering transaction. It was concluded that convenience affects the Gen X customers’ satisfaction in a large extent. Also, the Gen X customers find traditional cashiers to be more reliable in their ordering transactions than the kiosk-based technology. Furthermore, the customers find that flexibility largely affects their satisfaction in their ordering transactions through traditional cashiers and kiosk-based technology. Moreover, the respondents believe that traditional cashiers are more accurate in their order transactions than the kiosk-based technology. The Gen X customers are both somewhat satisfied with their ordering experiences in traditional cashiers and kiosk-based technology. However, no statistically significant difference is found in the satisfaction level of Generation X customers in their ordering transactions between traditional cashier and kiosk-based technology when compared according to their age group.
