
The demand for qualified applicants in a growing tourism industry is supplied by tourism higher educational institution . Tourism education supports the tourism industry by developing appropriate human resources. Existing literature show increase demand for competent personnel for the tourism industry .The competency based – curriculum of the hospitality education program addressed the job and skills or talent mismatch in the hospitality industry. The tourism and hospitality includes internship program which is considered as the experimental learning component of the curriculum . Embedded in the curriculum is the bartending courses, which intends to improve the bartenders or barista knowledge , skills and attitude in maintaining the cleanliness of operating bar and bar areas , and in following the prescribed standards in preparing and mixing cocktails . The proposed bar gym in this feasibility study can be considered as part of ” bridging” the existing gap in the supply and demand for competent tourism industry personnel. Right training that is juxtaposed with appropriate facilities is the essence of the proposed Bar Gym as learning hub for the bartending.
