Thriving in the Midst of Pandemic among Our Lady of Fatima University College of Hospitality and Institutional Management Alumni in Dealing with Unemployment

This study aimed to determine how the respondents kept thriving amid pandemics among Our Lady of Fatima University-College of Hospitality and Institutional Management alumni in dealing with unemployment. They used the Network Sampling method as a help to gain accurate results. Descriptive statistics using frequency and percentage distribution have been applied to determine the skills acquired before unemployment. Descriptive statistics using frequency and percentage distribution have been applied to determine the strategies and utilize new knowledge and skills in dealing with and thriving in the pandemic crisis. The researchers used the quantitative research method and survey to collect the data. Collecting and interpreting numerical data is referred to as quantitative research. It is used to uncover patterns, averages, predictions, and cause-and-effect correlations between the investigated variables. The researcher’s respondents are our Lady of Fatima University alumni under the College of Hospitality and Institutional Management. They collected ten surveys from alumni that helped them to fulfill the study. The impact of Covid-19 on the employment of CHIM alumni in terms of Lifestyle is “quite a bit,” with a mean value of 3.50. The effects of Covid-19 on the career of CHIM alumni in terms of Lifestyle resulted “quite a bit” with a mean value of 3.50. Unemployment amid pandemic in terms of emotion has overall “quite a bit” emotionally affected by the unemployment in the pandemic with a 3.73 mean value. Hence, the respondents tend to minimize expenses and prioritize essential things with a mean value of 3.94 to sustain themselves during the pandemic financially. There is “quite a bit” of financial impact to the respondents having a 3.94 mean value. Unemployment amid pandemic in terms of Social; thus, overall “very little” impact with 2.27 mean to deal in unemployment amid pandemic in terms of social perspective based on the respondents. Acquiring hard skills to respond to unemployment felt “quite a bit” in need of the Hard Skills they reached to respond to unemployment with a 3.96 mean value. Lastly, there is a “great deal” to the respondents in their acquired soft skills to respond to unemployment with a mean value of 4.53.
