As the food service industry continues to evolve, the use of technology has become increasingly prevalent in quick service restaurants (QSRs). These technologies have the potential to improve the customer experience by making it more convenient and efficient to order and pay for food, as well as to increase operational efficiency by streamlining processes and reducing labor costs. However, it is not clear whether these technological advancements have a positive impact on customer retention in QSRs.
In order to examine the relationship between technology and customer retention in QSRs, we conducted a correlative research study using survey questionnaires to gather data from customers of QSRs. The survey questions focused on the types of technology that customers had encountered in QSRs, their attitudes towards these technologies, and their loyalty to the QSRs in which they had used them.
The data collected through the survey was analyzed using frequency and mean distribution, as well as Pearson r for statistical treatment. The results of the analysisshowed that there was a significant relationship between technology in QSRs and customer retention. This suggests that incorporating technology into QSRs can have a positive impact on customer retention and satisfaction.
While these findings are promising, it is important to note that this study was limited in scope and further research is needed to fully understand the mechanisms through which technology affects customer retention in the QSR industry. This could include exploring the specific types of technology that are most effective at improving customer retention, as well as identifying best practices for implementing technology in a way that maximizes its benefits for both customers and businesses. Overall, our study highlights the potential for technology to play a role in improving customer retention in the QSR industry, and suggests that QSRs may benefit from investing in technological advancements in order to stay competitive and meet the changing needs of their customers.
